How to Calculate Zakat on Gold

1. Weigh your gold in grams (exclude stones/ornaments that aren’t gold).
2. Find today’s market price per gram for your gold purity.
3. Multiply weight × price to get the total value.
4. Check Nisab (~85g). If you meet it and a lunar year passed, apply 2.5%.

Example

80g × SAR 240 = SAR 19,200 total. If your other assets bring you above Nisab, Zakat = 19,200 × 0.025 = SAR 480.
